Board of Directores

The CNRU’s Board of Directors is made up of:

  1. The Director-General in the Office of the Prime Minister holding Education, Youth and Culture within his remit;
  2. The Secretary-General of CNRU;
  3. The Director-General in charge of science, technology and scientific research in the Ministry holding science, technology and scientific research within its remit;
  4. The Director of the Education department in the Permanent Secretariat of CNRU;
  5. The Director of the science department in the Permanent Secretariat of CNRU;
  6. The Director of the culture department in the Permanent Secretariat of CNRU;
  7. The Director of the communication and information department in the Permanent Secretariat of CNRU;
  8. The Managing Director of the Institute for Scientific and Technological Research (IRST.);
  9. The Director holding culture within his remit in the Ministry holding culture within its remit;
  10. The Director of the Rwanda National Museum;
  11. The Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the Rwanda National University;
  12. The Dean of Education at Kigali Institute of Education (KIE);
  13. The Director holding youth within his remit in the Ministry holding youth within its remit;
  14. The Director holding environment within his remit in the Ministry holding environment within its remit;
  15. The Head of the Chemistry Department at the Rwanda National University;
  16. The Head of the Geography Department at the Rwanda National University;
  17. The Head of the Sociology Department at the Rwanda National University;
  18. The Director in charge of energy in the Ministry holding energy within its remit;
  19. The Director of the School of Journalism at the Rwanda National University;
  20. The Rwanda Representative at the UNESCO Executive Board;
  21. The Representative of the towns and Districts’ Association;
  22. Five persons to be appointed by Cabinet for their competence in the UNESCO fields as far as concerned are:
    a) Education
    b) Science and technology
    c) Social and human science
    d) Culture
    e) Communication, information and computer technology.

These five important persons are appointed for a period of five years renewable only once. Members of the Commission shall be appointed by Cabinet on the proposal by the line Minister.

The Executive Committee composition

All members of the CNRU Board of Directors are affected in one or two of the five different technical sub-commissions related to the main areas of UNESCO, where they are requested to meet regularly and give their specific expertise.
The five chairpersons of the Sub-commissions with the Bureau of General Assembly (Chair, V/Chair and Secretary) constitute the Executive Committee.
